Politicians, developers and IT experts from 120 countries gathered in Moscow for the 2nd Global Digital Forum. Delegates explored sovereign digital infrastructure, made direct contact with technology companies and discussed how international products could fit into national digital ecosystems.
Mussollini Mugumbate, Founder and Director of Children of the Digital Age Zimbabwe (CODAZIM), spoke to IT Russia about the early results of his participation.
A memorandum for child online protection
On the day of the interview, CODAZIM signed a memorandum of understanding with a Russian organisation. The partnership is focused on protecting children online, exchanging experience and knowledge, and strengthening ties between Zimbabwe and the Russian Federation.
“Our main goal is to protect children in the digital age.”
What happens next
The immediate priority, Mussollini said, is to begin child-protection work in Zimbabwe, Russia and other countries as quickly as possible, operating under the terms of the memorandum once the process is under way.
“We expect to see the first practical results of this partnership by December.”
Preparatory work begins in October, with the first practical results of the partnership expected before the end of the year.
